Our Research Interest
How are biopolymers designed, how do the molecular motors achieve the ultra-high efficiency of energy transduction, how are noises filtered from signals in the network of interacting biomolecules, and how does dynamics of gene networks determine the cell fate? Through computational and theoretical analyses, we explore the fascinating themes of quantitative biological physics.
When we study the life phenomena quantitatively, we first notice "flexibility" and "fluctuation" of the life systems: Not like the man-maid machines or systems, life is flexible and fluctuating. By using statistical mechanical ideas and computer simulations, we study the meaning of flexibility and fluctuation in various levels of life systems, from biomlecules, biomolecular networks, cells, and through organisms.
